Founder & Chartered Psychologist
Dr. Richard Tighe
Richard Tighe is a UK-Chartered Psychologist and clinical board member of the International Mental Health Practitioners of Japan. With nearly two decades of experience in education, counseling, and psychotherapy, he works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a wide range of concerns.
His academic journey spans Ireland, the UK, and the US, with doctoral research focused on cross-cultural communication and anxiety-related conditions in Japan. Richard has also completed advanced psychoanalytic training at the William Alanson White Institute in New York and is a candidate psychoanalyst with the Contemporary Freudian Society in Washington, D.C.
His integrative approach draws on CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic theory, tailoring therapy to each individual's unique needs and values. At the heart of his work is the belief that therapy is a process of self-discovery—helping clients build resilience and live with greater clarity and meaning.

Chartered Psychologist
Dr. Nao Fujita
Dr. Nao Fujita is a UK Chartered Psychologist and qualified teacher specialising in cross-cultural child and adolescent development. She is committed to understanding how culture and family life shape emotional, social, and cognitive growth, bringing a thoughtful and compassionate approach to her therapeutic work.
Nao completed her PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Cambridge, researching children’s social and cognitive development and family life in Japan and the UK. She later undertook further training in child psychoanalytic skills, deepening her understanding of therapeutic processes and emotional development.
She has extensive experience supporting children, young people, and adults from many different countries across public, private, and international school settings.She offers a culturally sensitive perspective grounded in established psychological theory, cultural understanding, and a commitment to nurturing trusting relationships.
Dr. Fujita offers therapy in Japanese and English.

Trainee Therapist
Libby Harris
Libby Harris is a graduate student in the clinical counseling program at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. Originally from Germany, she has lived in the United States and now resides in Okinawa, Japan. Libby is currently completing her internship at North Tokyo Counseling, providing counseling services via telehealth. She is passionate about supporting emotional and mental well-being with empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
Ms. Harris provides therapy at a reduced rate for clients and is supervised by Dr. Tighe.
Ms. Harris offers therapy in English.
